He drops the $1200 or so for a full T1 from AT&T, Sprint, etc... and then splits it out to his customers at $100-$350 each.

He's got the added overhead of the wireless rewquirements, but hey - once his startup capital has been paid for, he's got a nice little chunk of change every month.

There are also business DSL connections in some locations.. I'm in southeastern indiana, and I've got DSL in an area where AOL and MSN are struggling to maintain a dial-up POP. The guy that provides my DSL is moving towards wireless broadband in this area, too, since verizon's phone switches don't offer enough coverage to sell DSL to all customers - and he's running off of a T3 direct to his main office.
