Business Model? A business should dictate their own business model, not have the software dictate how to do business.
Look here you moron. The MS tax is the biggest reason for the dot-bomb in my eyes. I am a sysadmin, I was a windows consultant, I have comverted over to Linux. The biggest reason?
Especially with the state of the economy, companies using MS software cant afford extra services (me) because there is nothing left of their IT budget after paying taxes, the Microsoft tax that is. This eliminates any new innovative technologies from being implemented (by me).
The clients I convert over to Linux have enough money left over in the budget to actually be able to add features to their systems, make improvements, and add new technologies to improve their business. Thats innovation! Microsofts only innovation is new ways to make Microsoft money, and NOT the companies that use their software.
With reference to the article, the difference of 1.3 to 3 is what puts food on my plate. If there is nothing left after the Microsoft tax, my family doesnt eat.
At least I have job security now, knowing that most windows admins are not computer savvy enough to figure out Linux. Hey maybe my family will eat steak tonight! Just like my customers!
