First time posting on here, bear with me. This excerpt is from the JXTA page:
JXTA technology is a set of open protocols that allow any connected device on the network ranging from cell phones and wireless PDAs to PCs and servers to communicate and collaborate in a P2P manner.
JXTA peers create a virtual network where any peer can interact with other peers and resources directly even when some of the peers and resources are behind firewalls and NATs or are on different network transports.
Now I thought the purpose of going away from a P2P based network to centralized server was for ease of administration and security. By having a central server you only have one place to administrate and set up shares, where as in P2P networks you have to configure each device seperately. What type of administrative costs and overhead is involved with setting up this type of P2P network to have shares on each device? Would it need more administration since there is no central administration, but it is placed on each device?
Administrative issues?
