The wealth of a nation is only dependent on the hard work of the individuals who make up that nation -- nothing more. The US is a weathy because of hard work and wise business decisions, not because they just got lucky. West Africa can have the same if they want it bad enough and stop making decisions that make them dependent on other nations for support.
