Not much to say here. Oracle is in a real sweet spot with regard to Linux. They can put a lot of money into it while maintaining high margins on their proprietary database. The other poor companies such as IBM and Sun eat into their high-margin products everytime they support Linux, but they hope to make more money with Linux products.

MS has nothing to gain with Linux, and as pointed out in a new article in the Economist, they must fight it tooth and nail, and they are losing the battle with governments.

I wonder if Oracle would support any effort regarding an open source database?<nobr> <wbr></nobr>:)
