It's a business so they're out there to make money so you can't really blame them. They *do* however help Linux in a intangible manner by making people look twice at the "little-OS-that-could" and give them reason to pause and think about it.
From what I've seen, Oracle is only submitting code that will benefit their big monster of a DB's performance under Linux.
