IN real UNIX we use LVM to do this stuff on the fly.

Linux has an LVM modeled after the best LVM in the world (HPUX). More people should use it. It's not hard to use at all once you get a hang for it.

Using LVM is 10000x easier than the old PeeCee way of using disk paritions etc.
