Changing the behaviour of rm isn't safe. You will come to expect it to query you, or expect to be able to check your trash directory. Then, when you're on another system, or if the alias fails, you will be surprised when "rm e*.txt" just went ahead and deleted the lot, rather than asking. And no, those files you wanted to keep wont be in the trash directory either.
Replacements for rm are good -idea - but don't call them rm!
