Hmmmm....looks like I've been luckier than some with Reiser, and unluckier than some with ext3. Probably just got to do with what the system is up to when it goes down, which is largely a disk format-agnostic quantity.
OK, so we can extend my point: on neither ext3 nor Reiser is the filesystem suitably stable through an unexpected power-cycle, though it can offer some degree of protection. Therefore the article should not offer such a blase' description of how great journalling is, and anyone with a little BOFH experience wouldn't have written it thus.
