Um, I was not aware that Reiserfs was capable of having problems. I've been using it for about 2 years now on every harddrive on every computer I have and it's been rock solid and it's performance has been most excellent (benchmarks agree, Reiserfs has been shown to be faster than ext3 and XFS, especially with smaller files). I use Reiserfs everywhere , On my Laptop, my many many PC towers, my Mac G4, my Sun Ultra2, my many external USB 2.0 harddrives. I've had so many random power downs/power failures on so many different systems, my USB 2.0 external harddrives suffer constant abuse, bumps, drops, poweroffs, random unplugging from cords being strewn across the room, and Reiserfs has always recovered, usually in only a few seconds. I honestly can't believe that people have had problems with reiserfs, I've had problems with every other filesystem I've used, especially on external harddrives (NEVER format an external harddrive with NTFS, ever, avoid ext2 and HFS, but NEVER use NTFS) I've lost so many Gigabytes of data (tho I usually had backups...somewhere) and so much time to filesystem corruption in the past, Reiserfs has truly been a godsend.
