Some people maybe don't realize that writers sometimes put thoughts on paper that are merely idle speculation. Interesting to mull over, but not necessarily technically detailed. The reader is expected to supply their own expertise where it exceeds the author's. That is how progress is made. Someone has a need, and people meet that need and receive compensation. If we all poked holes in our clients/customers technical knowledge instead of meeting the clients needs, how successfully would we be?
Think of it as science fiction, where you don't expect 100% compliance with reality as we know it.
