I think the point is that ESR might do the cause of Linux more good by stating facts ( "I support you", "The board of<nobr> <wbr></nobr>... support you" ) and not claiming ( "We support you" ) to speak for a community who have not chosen him as their spokesman. He's a gun nut FFS.
