> In the brief Q&A session that followed, a member of the audience asked if IBM's SmartSuite would be released under the GPL. A fellow IBM employee said that IBM would like to do so but that components of SmartSuite are licensed but not owned by IBM, so making it public may take some time.
Oh, come on! Let the non-IBM parts be rewritten!
That was what happened to Mozilla, wasn't it? An initial cleaning, proprietary parts removal and then a few years recoding the missing parts.
It could be done, it has been done!
What is needed is a Mozilla-like Foundation.
Of course, Openoffice.org is on straight course to surpass MS-Office, but another Office Suite wouldn't hurt.
I have Smartsuite. It simply rocks. It's like MS-Office, but it's way more intuitive.
Please!!!
