I cannot disagree too loudly, we've begun to see a lot of politics in these sites. But a quick examination of who contributes what to whom (Microsoft, "big tobacco" --> ADTI for example). But the current administration really does have a *serious* penchant for secrecy, a condition that I take very seriously. Though a bit cynical, I hold to the premise that cockroaches do not like sunshine.
There's no need for a tinfoil hat, the "vast conspiracy" is easily explained: People want power. More power. And they don't want their use of the power to be examined critically, as that would be a net reduction of their power.
The disappointment I feel is that our nation used to have "checks and balances", but those who want power have found ways to disable the safety features.
