While I agree that OOo is the best Office Suite in the open source world, I disagree that everyone should just drop development on everything else and work on OOo. Right now I use OOo, TextMaker, AbiWord and, when I remember I have it, KOffice. I like having the option of using a different tool for different jobs.
If OOo wants to being in new developers they need to make the project worth joining for the developers. How this is done varries a lot but they need to find what their "it" is and then they'll get people hacking code.
