The critical difference between SPF Classic and Sender-ID (other than the fact that it is not encumbered by a patent) is that SPF Classic checks the RFC2821 headers and Sender-ID checks the RFC2822 headers. Personally I think that RFC2821 checks will do a better job preventing forgery.
