just some more ideas regarding the use of rss. check out feedburner (http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/home) - provides lots of good rssservices, the best of which is that it allows you to combine a de.licio.us feed and a flickr feed with another rssfeed. so for example you could combine a friend's blog feed with his de.licio.us feed and flickr feed.
try using feed to javascript (http://jade.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/feed/) in order to get a de.licio.us feed posted into your blog page.
subscribe to the blogdigger media feed (http://www.blogdigger.com/media/index.jsp) to get a regular list of bittorrent. you can even use a bittorent client called azereus (http://azureus.sourceforge.net/) which can subscribe to a rssbittorrent feed and automatically start downloading user specified files.
