Thanks for a genuinely interesting article. I've done some sequencing under Linux, using both the old version of Rosegarden as well as the new KDE based one. I hadn't considered doing audio recording under Linux (or NetBSD, my preferred platform), but armed with this article I'm going to give it a go. I've been using a Boss BR-8 hardware recorder up until now, but the reliance on 100Mb Zip disks has been limiting. Being able to use the capacity of a decent sized hard drive instead is going to very handy.
