Linux sound developers: please look at Windows&amp

Instead of describing funny command line parameters for eca-sound it would be more interesting to have a "ready to go" solution which works for MIDI and for wave recording. I wonder why nobody puts the effort into creating a Knoppix like live cd distribution for home recording which works out of the box. It would be nice to be able to load a MIDI template into eg. Rosegarden to be able to control a Yamaha AW16G hard disk recorder like it is possible with most of the Windows and Mac OS music programs
