hang on sparky...there are many forums where you are welcome to share your displeasure with the current state of GNU/linux. or maybe your displeasure with linus for that matter. in any case this is not the place.
this article describes an inexpensive way to get very good results from a system built on GNU/linux. yes, other platforms (osx/win/etc.) show more "maturity" for this genre of software. but the article has a good amount of non-platform specific information. coupled with the first article it provides a good primer about the subject well beyond the components used.
i respect your opinion regarding the current state of linux but, please, no follow-up sniping.
