Good article

I think the article makes so good points here. Instead of ranting over two lines about what free is , the main issue here is about how companies can leverage open source in combination with their own business goals.

If businesses can't make money out of open source, open source will die.

Although Java isn't open source it doesn't prevent me from writing open source applications.

I agree though that the licensing of Java should at least be modified so that distribution of Java by Linux distributions should be possible. This with greatly expand the usage of the language because java applications can then be delivered (think about Tomcat etc.).
