The Apple 1 was released in 1976. OK it didn't do much, but the Apple II, released the following year, was a big success. The IBM PC was not released until 1981. And there were many PCs that came before both, like the Commodore VIC-20, the Commodore PET, the TRS-80, CP/M, Heathkits, and lots more .
