Of course, Intermezzo was doomed to failure: who in their right mind would put FS over the wire as Web traffic? Sorry, but my FS needs something a bit better than the application space.

Lustre isn't a distributed file-system. It's another doomed iteration of someone trying to make a coda-lite fs. Replicating journal blocks via an application is just shooting yourself in the foot.

Some part of that argument, I'm sure, applies to the webDAV people, but I haven't seen just how good their aim is.
