You *want* to switch to Debian. I know you do, I see it in you.<nobr> <wbr></nobr>:)
Why don't you copy over your Fedora XF86Config (Debian names it XF86Config-4, btw) and start from there. There is the nvidia-glx packages, or the nvidia-kernel package. Give it another try, and if you have trouble, you can google the numerous 'Fool-proof nVidia installation with Debian' guides there are. Also available are the friendly people in irc.freenode.net's #debian and #nvidia channels. I know Debian may be a bit difficult at times, but once you get set up, it is the greatest thing in the world. Seriously. you get the newness and cutting-edge of Fedora with Debian Sid, and none of the new-release breakage you get with Fedora. Good Luck!
