Recompiling the toolchain is not required to use a different C compiler, and the entire point here is benchmarking OS's, so keeping the same compiler is required. Recompiling GCC with --imafucking-retard --rice-me-out doesn't make gcc create faster binaries, it could only possible make gcc compile things in less time, which it doesn't actually do in reality.

And -O2 is used everywhere by default, and is the only consistant large performance gain. And 5% is irrelivant in a benchmark like this, and is not worth the risk of stability problems that come with trying to over-optimize everything.

Let this be a warning to you, you need to read posts before replying to them, otherwise you end up making up nonsense that has nothing to do with what you are replying to, like changing compilers.
