Well, you obviously didn't look carefully at that article. What it shows is this: First a comparison of several databases on a linux platform. MySQL and Oracle are the fastest, and SQL Server the slowest. But then they gave the chance to SQL to perform under Windows platform, and it increased it's performance dramatically (in fact it was faster than any other database on Linux).

So what I meant was this: If you get SQL Server to test the speed of Operating Systems (Linux and Windows), you'll come to the conclusion that Windows is much faster (Because SQL runs faster under Windows). So, I guess that if you use MySQL to test Linux and Windows performance, Linux will win easily (because MySQL runs faster under Linux).

I hope I made my point clear now.
