wow. what an ignorant statement. many companies don't have the thousands of dollars for licensing technology products from convicted monopolists or organizations who engage in abusive business practices simply because they can. mysql is a totally valid db solution for many environments, even those with high performance requirements. if it weren't, it wouldn't have moved to the front of the OSS db solutions list, passing all others in the process.
