Given the author's older anti-FreeBSD ranting on some other site, and the lack of depth (or clue) in the analysis, I am forced to conclude that this is nothing but FUD, full of sound and fury, generated by a blowhard.
I am running a number of FreeBSD 5.3 boxes 24/7, and they have been rock fucking solid. Mkay? Now, some of that hardware was runnning OpenBSD earlier, and suffered from a few lockups. Coincidence? Bad luck? Maybe, maybe not.
Although I am a huge fan of OpenBSD and their crusade to reign in the exploding complexity of open-source services by rolling their own, so far my own stability score card is in favor of FreeBSD.
