One example: SunRay

There's one example for a hardware based thin client solution which runs on either Linux or Solaris operating system environments. It's called SunRay. The main benefit is that there's no software running on the client side. Using ID card authentification it's possible to transfer a user session from one SunRay client system to another one (even when running the SunRay via secured DSL line) without the need of a logout.
