If this is so I guess rendering a KDE 3.4 desktop takes a lot less resources than I thought. When I look at X on my system it uses about 80mb of ram. As some of this might be run by the server it is impossible to extrapolate how much the client needs to render.

Obviously the freenx people have done some tremendous stuff with compression, caching and bandwidth utilisation. To run an X session well over a dialup connection, all I can say is wow!!

I have to wonder though what the difference would be between a P133 with 32mb ram and a p3 with 256mb ram.
