Have you looked at Thinstation (<a href="http://thinstation.sourceforge.net/" title="sourceforge.net">http://thinstation.sourceforge.net/</a sourceforge.net>)? It's a network and/or CD bootable Linux thin client. The image size runs around 6-10 MB depending on the client software included (Citrix, VNC, rdesktop, etc.)
