Hey, how about trusting Microsoft to tell you that you need to update your PDF viewer from adobe. Yeah, you can count on them for that.
That sure is better than RHN, apt, etc...updating everything and only needing to be rebooted after a kernel upgrade (and then not really needing to be rebooted until you have time instead of immediately).
