amaya

I believe that amaya is mostly meant to be a web page editor. The fact that it is available for both linux and windoze was helpfull back when I still used windoze.

I prefer amaya over mozilla composer because the cursors in both the wysiwyg and source code windows are syschronized. Handy if you need to find the html to tweak for a corresponding deisplay.

I have used amaya to edit (read edit not originate) pages with some javascript, while using mozilla to display the page.

Amaya may also be useful for checking for W3C compliance of html output from other editors, unless you have embedded script.

I you do web pages for a living, no doubt a more elaborate editor would be more appropriate.
