The fact is that patches are mainly code. I haven't got into deep problems of developing a multiplatform project, as those aren't the only things you need to know on that subject. Those small hints are good to write simple patches, to do simple changes to an already multiplatform code to adapt it to an environment slightly changed. It doesn't talk about bigger changes as supporting a completely new operating system or writing a new project from scratch.
That's the simple reason why I was talking about patches<nobr> <wbr></nobr>:) Other than that, those problems on complete projects are already managed by their developers, the external contributors instead are the ones usually writing half-working patches.
