Thanks for the response. Aventail does have a nice feature set, but my problem isn't with the features, it's with SSL VPN vendors selling themselves as Clientless VPNs. I believe they are misusing the term VPN, as their security is drastically reduced in this clientless state. That's my main thrust, customers do not understand the security trade off they are making in exchange for this clientless option, and I'll bet if you went and asked your (Aventail's) sales force whether or not they emphasize this trade off, you'll find that they don't. Why would they? It reduces sales. But I feel they have an ethical responsibility to educate their customers and they aren't doing it.
I certainly don't mean to pick on Aventail, I don't have direct experience with them so to a degree I am speculating, but I have talked with the sale force of several of the other SSL VPN vendors and not one of the mentioned this security trade off and most of them stared at me blankly when I brought it up.
