The GIMP 2.3 development branch is far from being ready for a GIMP 2.4 release. There will definitely not be a 2.4 release this month. Many of the features shown in this article are incomplete and/or experimental and some will not be in the 2.4 release at all. Don't get distracted by the screenshots, the new tools will get a major user interface cleanup before this software is released to a wider audience.
