Really. The packaging systems used by the distro of your choice works just fine. The problems I have had with packaging systems have been the following:
1. A repository was moved and I did not know of the change.
2. Packaging errors made by the person creating the dep, rpm whatever. This is the most common.
Those are the only two real instances ICR. Oh there may have been the odd occasion where there a bug in the program itself.
But none of those can be avoided no matter what management system you use. As for one universal no matter what distro you use packaging system, well, keep your dirty mitts off my sourced based distro.
