Not just trademarks

You are correct that the inclusion of trademarked logos with restricted use does not mean the software is not Free. However, in the case of Mepis, there is closed source, unknown license software on the CD. Last time it came up, I researched it and came away confused by the abiguity. I know many that swear-by and use Mepis. However, I don't currently believe that it is a completely Free Software distribution for the reasons I state in the linked thread.
