XandrOS & pulse dialing

Greeting from the sunny Ukraine at this Christmas Eve!
Well, I must confess Xandros is a well-polished distro, like SuSE, Vector, MDK... Pretty, pretty pleasant look, very good win-compatibility, emulators, etc...But who can explain me in this world: how I can make its kppp (or what it's called at XandrOS) to do the PULSE dialing at the old good dial-up networking???
I've tried all the ways, from GUI (it doesn't allow to put in the "P" character at the phone number bar) up to the config' files.
It just doesn't want to work; TONE dialing is OK.
If you have some comments to that, please, contact me: messiahette (doggy) ukr.net
