If the Python interpreter really is open source then that means the OS API hooks it uses are visible and that means anybody can port the Ruby interpeter using those same calls. Go for it.



You may not even need to write much code. Since the python interpreter is open source then assuming the licenses and implementation languages are compatible you can reuse the relevant Python interpreter interface code in the Ruby interpreter.



In fact anybody can port their favourite language or meta-os to this platform now.

My girlfriend has just been stung by a closed source phone with crippled functionality - we can't save/load photo's/wallpaper/mp3's even though we've got the correct PC cable.



I'm currently in the market for a new phone and I'm going to make damn sure it's not crippled. One of these S60's is probably going to be it.
