for all this to work you need proprietary codecs which, to my knowledge, no GNU/Linux distro ships with for legal reasons. you can get it somewhere else, but that is always a pain.
that's about the only thing which cannot be simply apt-get installed<nobr> <wbr></nobr>:-((
