Ok, I can see your point, but I don't think many people think like that. Most people equate bigger with more. Think about it in terms of fonts. To get a larger font, you usually raise the number in the size attribute.
Your argument makes sense from a software designer's standpoint. But I don't think it makes sense from a user's point of view.
