You forgot to mention that these are the semantics
for "regular" files and that things are slightly
differnet for the permissions on directories. In
a simple introductory article it's not necessary
to go into detail about *how* the directory
permission semantics differ; it would be enough
just to note at the end of the article that there
are some differences when it comes to directories.
But failing to say anything about it leaves the
impression that the bits are interpreted this
same way for all files, which is not the case.
