Firstly in replay to Wierd:
It is much easier to get a shell runnning than a full blown system and one can be run from a floppy with a virtual filesystem. Personally I use Ubuntu's Live CDs which at present freeze when I try to run it on my new PC. I can easily get to a shell though.
My Remaining Problem:
How do I find the make and model of the Mother Board? I can't find where it is written on the board and need to get a bios upgrade for it (Hopefully for free) so that my new 250GB HD works.
Great! But How Get MB Make & Model Number?
