dont use audacity to compress to mp3

use LAME and tweak those settings to give you the best audio for the bitrate you are looking for. you can make a 32kbps 2 hour podcast sound pretty good and still be a small download. Keeping in mind that not everyone has gobs of broadband available and possibly offering your podcast in multiple quality formats is a good idea also.

searching for podcast and lame on google will reveal some others great work on figuring settings.
