Thanks for a well written article on Linux authentication via LDAP.
I am conceptionally missing one piece of the pie, multiple linux hosts. I have some 60 linux servers I would like to authenticate against LDAP. I don’t see how the LDAP user entry relates to the linux server other then search base in the ldap.conf file. I realize I could make multiple user entries, one per linux server, but that makes little sense. So my question is, how would you give an LDAP user entry access to multiple linux servers?
