I've been using <a href="http://linux.duke.edu/projects/yum/" title="duke.edu">yum</a duke.edu> for years, long before portage, yet there's not even a passing mention of it. Was the author in such a hurry to profess his love for emerge and Gentoo, and to express his issues with RPM-based systems, that he failed to make even a cursory search for a similar tool? What about apt?
