You are not mentioning yum or smart, and you do not compare to them.
So why is portage better than apt or yum? Where does it has the features where the others are lacking?
And: just solving dependencies is nothing special, yum and smart can do this also.
Sorry, but your article looks just like an article from someone who does not know what he is talking about - but I have to admit that you haven't compared apt to rpm, that's one mistake several people do all the time and which shows that these people has no idea at all...
