"Vim's most useful command has to be :!emacs"

That is the most stupid sentence I have ever seen. Why would a user of the best editor available try to use a slow, bloated, complex software called an editor?

Intelligent people are vim users. Emacs users are not happy with themselves and go trolling in vim mailing lists.

Also people have been using vim since 1976. Emacs started in 1984. So vim is 8 years more mature!

Actually, I suggest you use the :!vim command in emacs.
