I really liked this one. I am a professional illustrator by day and an open source/linux geek by night. I'd like to use Linux more during the day though (wink wink), so I read every Linux multimedia/graphics article with bated breath.
I agree with the author that a few unwise choices on the part of the Xara people could really spoil this project by crippling it from the get go. As an illustrator, I can do a lot of my 2D/3D work in Linux but the proprietary world still seems to hold the keys to things like interoperability (read: passing proprietary graphics files around). However, I have to balance that knowledge against the fact that the open source aesthetic is too beautiful for an artist to ignore.
